Crown: When a tooth is damaged and unable to support a restoration in certain cases we will consider doing an indirect restoration otherwise known as a crown. In the right clinical situation this will strengthen the tooth and give the tooth the best clinical outcome.

Veneers: This is more easily described as a false fingernail and best used to improve alignment or color of individual or multiple teeth.  They are mostly used to improve aesthetical appearances of front teeth.

Bridges: Is a treatment option to replace a missing tooth or several missing teeth where you attach an artificial tooth to a crown cemented to a natural tooth.  This allows a fixed retained option for tooth loss.  Before implant dentistry this was the only way to replace missing teeth with a fixed option.

These services are categorised as major dental by most health funds which is a statement we agree with. When needed, these procedures allows us to improve the long-term prognosis of the compromised tooth.

We use these procedures to strengthen and support the tooth when standard restorations procedures are insufficient. A very important use of veneers is to help improve the aesthetics of the anterior teeth.

These procedures involve the use of a dental lab to construct the necessary restoration which the dentist will cement in place. We use labs who are Australian owned and only use the highest quality of materials.

Before commencing any of these procedures there is a very important planning phase which includes taking clinical photos, radiographs, study models and then explaining all the risks involved and cost.

These procedures require an hour to ninety minutes preparation appointment where we prepare the tooth and take impressions to send to our dental lab where they will construct the restoration. The lab takes about 2 weeks to construct the restoration before we book you in to have the final restoration cemented.

To ensure that we match the colour correctly in high aesthetical cases we may require you to go visit the dental lab. We will always inform you about this in the planning phase.

The cost can vary depending on the procedure but the average cost is around $1900.
